This morning, Elliot was fretting and couldn't sleep for a long long time. So I picked him up, propped him on my shoulder and patted him for a while. He was out like a light in 2 mins flat. He actually likes me!!! Sometimes I lose sight of that when he screams and frets and when I'm unsuccessful in calming him down! At that moment, I just sat there, breathing in the smell of my baby and feeling so much in love with him.

I love my baby!

All that maternalness must have surfaced in a dream when I took a nap a while later. I dreamt that Emmanuel Stroobant (so strange, no idea why him!!) kidnapped Elliot and put him in a little test tube! How come he could fit in there?!?! And in the test tube was a real modern looking garden, complete with a scrolling screen for livejournal updates! I must be out of my mind. Anyhow, Elliot had somehow got a super bad knock on his head until a big red bump was exposed and he kept crying and shouting 'mummy, mummy!' but there was nothing I could do about it but knock at the side of the test tube. Man, that feeling really sucked. :(
  • :) so peaceful..

hee waiting for baby to grow up a little more and maybe you'll be having a cooking class and i can see your little boy...

hmm weird dream by the way... Emmanuel Stroobant ? hmm maybe he wants to train baby ... you must be tired and the mind was just running a little wild.
  • lol! that's one heck of a dream! what a contented-looking baby you've got here... such a blissful feeling to have him fall asleep on you right?
    • YES!! Oh my, I went out to cut my hair today and all I could think about was him sleeping on me and how much I wanted to rush home and see him again. It's like it kickstarted my maternal instincts!!
  • children are a blessing from God. never doubt that. and you are a blessing to elliot.

  • Hi,

Anyway, hope you have a wonderful time with your little bub as he grows a lil day by day.

    Cheers,
    Edlyn
    • Hi Edlyn,
Thanks for leaving a note! Yeah, he was born on 20th Sept and is almost a month old now. I haven't posted my birth story yet, maybe I'll do it in celebration of his first month! Oops such a backdated mother. Heh.
  • I say you are sleep deprived!
  • You have one happy baby there! Of cuz he lurbs you! Erm. How did it go with the cake-hunting?
  • i know i've said it like a million times but awww.. he's such an adorable baby! =)
  • So sweet. See!!! you are a great mummy!!!
    • Haha, can't help but feel very lousy at times when I can't pacify him. But I read a book and it said 'don't take it personally!' which helped me a lot.
